Authorities within the United Arab Emirates have warned streaming service Netflix about content material that violates the nation’s media broadcasting laws.
“Not too long ago, it has come to our consideration that the OTT platform Netflix is broadcasting visible content material that violates the UAE’s media broadcasting laws and contradicts the nation’s societal values,” an announcement from the Telecommunications and Digital Authorities Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and the Workplace of Media Regulation, stated.
Authorities have contacted the streaming service to take away the content material.
“We’ve contacted Netflix to take away this content material, particularly the offensive content material aimed toward kids.”
